Folders

Create and organize folders to structure your Hub content.

Folders help you organize files and assets in your Hub. Create a hierarchical structure with unlimited nesting depth, customize colors for visual organization, and easily move content between folders.

Creating Folders

Create folders to organize your Hub content into logical groups.

Navigate to the location where you want to create the folder

Click the New Folder button in the toolbar

Enter a name for your folder

Optionally add a description to help identify the folder's purpose

Click Create to finish

Folder names must be unique within the same parent folder. You can have folders with the same name in different locations.

Nesting Folders

Hub supports unlimited folder nesting depth, allowing you to create detailed organizational structures.

Using Drag and Drop

  1. Click and hold the folder you want to move
  2. Drag it over the destination folder
  3. Release to drop it inside

Using the Move Dialog

  1. Right-click the folder and select Move
  2. Browse or search for the destination folder
  3. Click Move to confirm

Tip: Use drag and drop for quick moves within the same view. Use the Move dialog when the destination is in a different location.

Color Customization

Assign colors to folders for visual organization and quick identification.

Right-click the folder and select Change Color

Choose from the available color palette

The color is applied immediately

Pro tip: Use consistent colors across projects. For example, use blue for active projects, green for completed work, and orange for items needing attention.

Folder Breadcrumbs

When navigating nested folders, a breadcrumb trail appears at the top of the view showing your current location.

  • Click any level to navigate directly to that folder
  • Home icon returns you to the Hub root
  • Current folder is displayed but not clickable

Moving Folders

Reorganize your folder structure by moving folders to new locations.

Right-click the folder you want to move

Select Move from the context menu

In the Move dialog, browse or search for the destination

Select the destination folder and click Move

Moving a folder also moves all its contents, including subfolders and files.

Folder Permissions

Access to folders depends on your role and the folder's sharing settings.

Owner Access

As the folder owner, you can:

  • View, edit, and delete the folder
  • Move the folder to new locations
  • Change folder color and description
  • Share the folder with others
  • Manage permissions for shared users

Shared Access

When someone shares a folder with you, your access level depends on the permission granted:

EditorYesYesYesYesNo
Full AccessYesYesYesYesYes

Deleting Folders

Remove folders you no longer need. Deleted folders are moved to Trash and can be recovered.

Right-click the folder and select Delete

Review the confirmation dialog showing affected contents

Click Delete to confirm

Deleted folders and their contents remain in Trash for 30 days. You can restore them anytime during this period.

Recovering Deleted Folders

  1. Go to Trash in the Hub sidebar
  2. Find the deleted folder
  3. Right-click and select Restore
  4. The folder returns to its original location

Best Practices

Use descriptive names: Choose clear, descriptive folder names that indicate the contents.

Establish a structure: Create a consistent organizational structure before uploading files.

Limit nesting depth: While unlimited nesting is supported, aim for 3-4 levels for easier navigation.

Use colors strategically: Assign colors based on project status, priority, or category for quick visual scanning.

Clean up regularly: Review and remove empty or outdated folders to keep your Hub organized.
