Starting Meetings
Start instant meetings for quick calls without the need for scheduling.
Instant meetings let you start a call immediately without scheduling. They're perfect for quick discussions, ad-hoc calls, or when you just need to meet now.
Starting an Instant Meeting
Go to Home in the sidebar
Click the Start Meeting or Quick Meeting button
Optionally enter a meeting title
Optionally select a room (if your organization uses rooms)
Click Start to launch the meeting
Go to Meetings in the sidebar
Click the Quick Meeting button in the top action bar
Enter a meeting title (optional)
Click Start to begin immediately
Quick Meeting Options
When starting an instant meeting, you can configure:
Meeting Title
Give your meeting a descriptive name. If you don't provide one, a default name will be used. The title helps participants identify the meeting and appears in:
- The meeting interface
- Your meeting history
- Any recordings
Room Selection
If your organization has created rooms, you can start the meeting in a specific room:
- Select a room from the dropdown
- The room link can be shared alongside the meeting link
- Room settings may apply to your meeting
Don't have rooms?
Rooms are optional and created by admins. If you don't see a room option, your organization either hasn't created rooms or you can simply start without one.
See Understanding Rooms for more information.

When to schedule instead
If you need to:
- Send invitations to participants in advance
- Have the meeting appear on everyone's calendar
- Set up a recurring meeting
Use Scheduling Meetings instead.
Starting a Scheduled Meeting
If you've already scheduled a meeting, you can start it before the scheduled time:
Go to Meetings or Home
Find the scheduled meeting
Click Start Meeting (available to host and Co-Host)
The meeting begins and invitees can join
Starting a scheduled meeting early doesn't change the scheduled time — it just makes the meeting active so participants can join.
