Captions & Transcription
Display current spoken captions when transcription is enabled for the meeting.
Live captions show the current recognized speech over the meeting. The control is available only when transcription has been enabled for that meeting.
Turn Captions On
- Open More.
- Select Speech to Text or the captions option.
- Enable captions.
- Adjust the caption font size if needed.
You can return to the same settings to disable captions. Your browser may remember your local caption preference for later sessions.
What Captions Show
Captions display recent spoken text and, when available, the recognized speaker. They are intended to help you follow the current conversation.
Caption accuracy depends on audio quality, overlapping speech, names, accents, and background noise. Captions can contain errors and should not be treated as a certified record.
Availability
Captions are available when transcription is enabled for the meeting. Ask your host if you need help finding the option. Viewing captions does not turn on your microphone.
Saved Transcript
A saved meeting transcript is separate from the captions displayed during the live meeting. If a saved transcript is available, authorized users access it later from the Control Panel meeting records. Turning captions on or off does not by itself create or delete that saved record.
Mobile Notes
Captions can cover part of the video on a small screen. Reduce the font size or rotate the device if the text blocks important content.
