SIP Dial-In
Add and manage a phone participant from a meeting when SIP calling is available.
SIP calling lets an authorized meeting manager call an external phone number and add the answered call as a meeting participant.
Requirements
The feature is available only when:
- You are the Host or a Moderator.
- Phone calling is enabled for the account and meeting.
- The required calling add-on and payment status are active.
- The account has enough calling balance for the destination.
- The destination is supported by the available country list.
Add Someone by Phone
- Open the participant or phone-calling controls.
- Select Add by phone.
- Choose the country code and enter the external number.
- Enter a display name if you want the phone participant identified by name.
- Review the displayed remaining balance.
- Select Call Now.
The call can remain pending until it is answered. A pending call's hang-up action can clear local state before a participant identity exists; it does not establish that the provider stopped ringing. Check the outcome rather than treating the removed row as confirmed cancellation.
Manage a Connected Call
For an active phone participant, an authorized Host or Moderator can Hang Up. Wait for confirmation; a provider failure can leave the call connected.
The current call controls do not offer mute/unmute, hold/resume, or keypad tones (DTMF). Do not plan a workflow that requires those controls.
Calls to external numbers can consume paid balance. Check the selected country, phone number, and remaining balance before calling.
If Calling Is Unavailable
The control may be disabled when the add-on, payment method, balance, destination list, or meeting permission is unavailable. If a call fails, verify the number and try again; a busy line, no answer, or unsupported destination can prevent connection.
Mobile Notes
Phone controls can appear in a modal or participant panel on small screens. Keep the meeting open while initiating or changing a call.
